ICAR Agricultural Scientists National Eligibility Test NET 2013-2014

Eligibility:
Nationality: A candidate must be either (a) a citizen of India, or (ii) a citizen of Nepal, or (b) a citizen of Bhutan, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 01st January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Govt of India

Age Limits: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01st August, 2012
There will be no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test
Educational Qualifications: A candidate for the National Eligibility Test must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned subject with specialization completed on or before 01st August, 2012 from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution estd by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 or he/she must have qualification from a foreign university recognized as equivalent by the Govt of India

NET Examination: There will one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (two) hours
Each question carries one mark
These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear
Minimum marks required for qualifying NET examination; General/OBC 60%; SC/ST/PC 50%
1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the NET examination.

Exam Centres: Anand, Bangaluru, Bikaner, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Dharwad, Dehradun, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Izatnagar, Jabalpur, Jammu, Junagadh, Karnal, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Nagpur, Palampur, Patna, Port-Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Tirupati, Udaipur, Varanasi
Fee: The candidates seeking admission to NET examination must pay a fee to the board
General Rs 1000/-; OBC (non creamy layer) Rs 500/-; SC/ST/PC Rs 250/-
The fee must be paid through a crossed bank draft only drawn in favour of Secretary, ASRB and payable at New Delhi with the application form
Candidates should write their name and address on the reverse of the bank draft
No other form of payment will be accepted by the board

Important Dates:
Last date for receipt of application will be 04th December, 2012
Entrance Exam: 20th January 2013
