Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003.

MAT Test Dates:

Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering 2014, (GATE 2014) 

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2014 will be held by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, which is the organizing institute this year. The seven IITs (Roorkee, Madras, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Guwahati, Delhi and Bombay) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) oversee GATE. 

GATE 2014 Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility varies depending on the degree and programme. Generally, you should be in the fourth year for bachelor's qualifying degrees (or you may have already completed the degree). For a Master of Engineering (M.E.) or Master of Technology (M.Tech.), you should be in the second, third or fourth year. You are eligible if you completed the degree. If your qualifying degree is a Master of Science (M.Sc.), you should be in the final year or be finished with your program.
You can only appear for one GATE 2014 paper.

CSIR will hold the Joint CSIR-UGC Test on 22nd December, 2013 for determining the eligibility of the Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET)

Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013 
The Indian Institutes of Management will conduct Common Admission Test 2013 (CAT2013) during a 20-day testing window between October 16, 2013 and November 11,2013. CAT 2013 will be conducted by IIMs. A candidate can appear for CAT2013 only once during the 20-day testing window.

CAT2013 Score
A candidate’s CAT2013 score card will be made available to the candidates. Related details will be available at the website www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in. The CAT result will be declared on January 14, 2014. CAT2013 score is valid till December 31, 2014.
The candidates’ scores will be made available till December 31, 2014. Subsequent to that date no queries related to assurance of CAT2013 score cards will be entertained.

Admission Process
Please note that IIM shortlists candidates for second stage of selection which may be independent of each other. The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in CAT2013 examination is an important component in the admission process.

Common Admission Test (CAT)
Common Admission Test or CAT is an entrance test conducted in India for the admission in management studies. Historically, Indian Institutes of Management branches used the scores of this test to determine the suitable candidates given the opportunity of admission. But now, Indian institute of Science and Indian Institutes of technology also use the scores of this examination for the admission. Previously, the CAT examination was conducted on an OMR sheet. But now, CAT is completely a computer based test and the students give examination online only. Now the branches of IIM follow a rotation policy to organize this examination every year. Students are advised to take thorough preparation as this test is considered as a difficult one including some multiple choice questions. Common Admission Test 2013 (CAT 2013). Prometric, trusted provider of market‐leading test

registration window will be open from 5 August through 26 September 2013. New this year, CAT
candidates can buy vouchers online directly fromIIMs, from5 Augustto 24 September.

Candidates can also purchase traditional vouchers for registration and scheduling from designated
Axis Bank branchesfrom5 Augustto 24 September.Details ofthe designated Axis bank branches can
be obtained from the website www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in or www.prometric.com. This year 30 more
Axis bank branches have been added to provide CAT 2013 candidates even greater convenience.

Similar to last year’s exam, the CAT 2013 will have two sections. The first section will focus on
Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation;the second on Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning. These
two sections will be implemented sequentially with separate time limits. The examination will be for
140 minutes. Candidates will have 70 minutesto answer 30 questions within each section which will
have an on‐screen countdown timer. Once the time endsfor the firstsection, they will move to the
second and will be unable to go back.

or https://iim.prometric.com. Forsupport and assistance, candidates can call the toll‐free candidate
care number 1‐800‐419‐0080, Monday to Saturday, 9AM to 6PM from5 August.

CAT will be conducted over a period of 20 days — from 16 October to 11 November 2013 — in
Prometric test centers across 40 cities. Thisincrease in locations(up from36 citieslast year) provides
candidates greater flexibility and convenience for choosing a suitable test day. For candidates who
are differently abled, additionalsupport will be available.

A 15‐minute tutorial will be provided before the start of the test, and candidates are advised to go
through it carefully before starting themain examination. The total duration will be two hours and 35
minutesincluding the tutorial. A practice testto provide candidates with a feel ofthe timed sections,
as well as navigation and functionality of the actual test will be made available on
www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in in the coming weeks. Candidates are advised to go through the practice
test carefully to familiarize themselves with the screens, layout and navigation.

The Indian Institutes of Management and Prometric are preparing formore studentsto appearfor
CAT 2013. “This year’s CAT students will have greater opportunity for admission into the
IIMs,” Professor Kapoor added. Across all IIMs, 115 seats have been added for B‐School admissions
this year, a total of 3,335 seats. The number of women appearing for CAT has been steadily
increasing, as well— from53,700 in 2010 to 56,000 in 2011. For 2012,more than 60,800 women
appeared forthe CAT. Additionally, female aspirants are achieving bettersuccess on the CAT, with
255 women scoring higherthan the 99 percentile on CAT 2012.

NMIMS School of Business Management (SBM) announces admission to its Two Year Full -Time programs MBA, MBA – Banking, MBA – Capital Market, MBA-HR & MBA-Pharmaceutical Management at Mumbai campus and PGDM at Bengaluru & Hyderabad Campuses for academic session 2014-2016.

Admissions to the above SBM programs are through NMIMS Management Aptitude Test (NMAT) followed by Case Discussion (CD) & Personal Interview (PI).

AICTE conducts National level Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) twice a year for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programmes approved by AICTE.

AICTE has now decided to conduct CMAT in Foreign Countries for facilitating eligible NRIs/PIOs and foreign nationals to appear in CMAT for seeking admission in institutions in India following CMAT merit list for 2014-2015 under special provisions defined in AICTE Approval Process and against all vacancies left after completion of centralized admission in management institutions.

The notification is issued to announce the schedule for conducting First Test of Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) for admission for academic year 2014-2015.

The candidates will be given two opportunities to appear in CMAT; first in September, 2013 and Second in February, 2014. The better of two scores will be used for admission for 2014-2015.

Candidates interested in applying to Birla Institute of Technology's (BIT) Master in Computer Applications (MCA) programme must take the BIT Mesra MCA exam 2013 in early June.

Programme
The MCA programme is offered at Birla Institute of Technology's Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lalpur, Noida and Mesra campuses. The full-time course generally takes three years (six semesters) to complete.

Exam pattern
The online entrance test has 120 questions with two hours allotted. All questions are objective type multiple choice, with one correct response for full marks. Correct responses earn four marks. Incorrect responses receive a one mark deduction. Unanswered questions do not receive any credit.
Section A: Mathematics, 60 questions
Section B: Analytical ability and logical reasoning, 20 questions
Section C: Computer awareness, 20 questions

Exam pattern
The Engineering Services Examination has a written part and an interview/personality test. The written examination has two sections: Section I (objective type questions) and Section II (conventional papers). There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the objective paper (Section I). The question papers are set only in English and the conventional paper must be answered in English. The objective paper (Section I) will be evaluated first, and those candidates that qualify will have the conventional paper (Section II) evaluated. Exam syllabus
The difficulty level of the exam should be similar to any other engineering degree examination of an Indian university. S.V.University Entrance Exam 2013-2014

The LAW Common Entrance Test (LAWCET) 2013 and Postgraduate LAW Common Entrance Test (PGLCET) 2013 will be held by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The law department of the university is conducting the test for admission into a variety of law programmes in Andhra Pradesh.

Courses Offered are:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B./B.L.) 3 years
LL.B./B.L. (5 years)
Master of Laws (LL.M.)
Master of Laws (LL.M./M.L.)

Exam pattern and syllabus

LAWCET
The test has a total of 120 questions and a maximum time of 90 minutes. Each question has one mark. There is no negative marking. The test is set in English and Telugu. The level of the test should be about the Intermediate level for the five-year law course, and degree level for the three-year law course. Questions are objective type, which include multiple choice and matching.
Part A General Knowledge and Mental Ability: 30 questions
Part B Current Affairs: 30 questions
Part C Aptitude for the Study of Law: 60 questions
Total: 120 questions, 120 marks
Students should be aware of basic principles in the law and constitution of India for Part C. Qualifying marks for the exam are 35 percent (42 marks out of 120). There are not qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates.

PGLCET
The test has 90 minutes allotted, with a total of 120 questions. Each question carries one mark. The test is conducted in English. Questions are multiple choice.

Part A
Jurisprudence: 20 questions
Constitutional Law: 20 questions
Total: 40 questions, 40 marks

Part B
Public International Law: 16 questions
Mercantile Law: 16 questions
Labour Law: 16 questions
Crimes and Torts: 16 questions
IPR and Other Laws: 16 questions
Total: 80 questions, 80 marks

Qualifying marks for the entrance test are 25 percent. There are no qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates.
