S.V.University Entrance Exam 2013-2014

The LAW Common Entrance Test (LAWCET) 2013 and Postgraduate LAW Common Entrance Test (PGLCET) 2013 will be held by Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The law department of the university is conducting the test for admission into a variety of law programmes in Andhra Pradesh.

Courses Offered are:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B./B.L.) 3 years
LL.B./B.L. (5 years)
Master of Laws (LL.M.)
Master of Laws (LL.M./M.L.)

Exam pattern and syllabus

LAWCET
The test has a total of 120 questions and a maximum time of 90 minutes. Each question has one mark. There is no negative marking. The test is set in English and Telugu. The level of the test should be about the Intermediate level for the five-year law course, and degree level for the three-year law course. Questions are objective type, which include multiple choice and matching.
Part A General Knowledge and Mental Ability: 30 questions
Part B Current Affairs: 30 questions
Part C Aptitude for the Study of Law: 60 questions
Total: 120 questions, 120 marks
Students should be aware of basic principles in the law and constitution of India for Part C. Qualifying marks for the exam are 35 percent (42 marks out of 120). There are not qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates.

PGLCET
The test has 90 minutes allotted, with a total of 120 questions. Each question carries one mark. The test is conducted in English. Questions are multiple choice.

Part A
Jurisprudence: 20 questions
Constitutional Law: 20 questions
Total: 40 questions, 40 marks

Part B
Public International Law: 16 questions
Mercantile Law: 16 questions
Labour Law: 16 questions
Crimes and Torts: 16 questions
IPR and Other Laws: 16 questions
Total: 80 questions, 80 marks

Qualifying marks for the entrance test are 25 percent. There are no qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates.

Online application forms available for submission: 8 March, 2013
Last date to submit application without late fee: 26 April, 2013
Last date to submit application with Rs. 200: 27 April to 5 May, 2013
LAWCET 3 and 5 Year exam: 6 June, 2013 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
PGLCET: 6 June, 2013 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m.
