Selection Procedure: The Union Public Service Commission shall prepare a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination as fixed by the commission at their discretion

BIT Mesra MCA Entrance Exam 2013-2014

Candidates interested in applying to Birla Institute of Technology's (BIT) Master in Computer Applications (MCA) programme must take the BIT Mesra MCA exam 2013 in early June.

Programme

The MCA programme is offered at Birla Institute of Technology's Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lalpur, Noida and Mesra campuses. The full-time course generally takes three years (six semesters) to complete.

Exam pattern

The online entrance test has 120 questions with two hours allotted. All questions are objective type multiple choice, with one correct response for full marks. Correct responses earn four marks. Incorrect responses receive a one mark deduction. Unanswered questions do not receive any credit.

Section A: Mathematics, 60 questions

Section B: Analytical ability and logical reasoning, 20 questions

Section C: Computer awareness, 20 questions

Section D: English, 20 questions

This section is intended to evaluate quantitative reasoning, logical reasoning and visio-spatial reasoning.

Section C: Computer awareness

Computer basics, data representation, computer architecture, computer language, flow charts, algorithms and operating systems.

Section D: English

Idioms and phrases, synonyms, using articles and prepositions, reading comprehension, sentence sequence, expansion of an idea, sentence completion (with choices), fill in the blank, abridging sentences and/or paragraphs.

Exam pattern

The Engineering Services Examination has a written part and an interview/personality test. The written examination has two sections: Section I (objective type questions) and Section II (conventional papers). There will be negative marking for wrong answers in the objective paper (Section I). The question papers are set only in English and the conventional paper must be answered in English. The objective paper (Section I) will be evaluated first, and those candidates that qualify will have the conventional paper (Section II) evaluated. Total: 120 questions, 120 marks

Students should be aware of basic principles in the law and constitution of India for Part C. Qualifying marks for the exam are 35 percent (42 marks out of 120). There are not qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates.

The test has 90 minutes allotted, with a total of 120 questions. Each question carries one mark. The test is conducted in English. Questions are multiple choice.

RAJASTHAN PRE ENGINEERING TEST (RPET 2013-2014)

Online Applications are invited from eligible candidates of Rajasthan domicile including the wards of Kashmiri Migrants for the registration of Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test - 2013 for admission to first year of undergraduate programmes 

Course: B.Tech. / B.E.

EXAMINATION SCHEME:

RPET-2013 shall consist of single examination of three hours duration containing 40 objective type questions in each subject i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total no. of questions will be 120 carrying one mark each. There will be no negative marking for wrong answer. The questions in the test booklet will be both in Hindi as well as in English.

RPET-2013 will be conducted on 23rd MAY, 2013 (Thursday) from 09.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon at the centers in the following cities: Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Banner, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Chum, Hindaun City, Jaipur, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunu, Jodhpur, Kota, Pilani, Sikar, Sirohi, Sri Ganganagar, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk and Udaipur.
